Logo v2Many people want to help others.  Voluntary Service, another of the seven Red Cross Fundamental Principles, extends our ability to perform our lifesaving humanitarian work.  In the United States, nearly 400,000 Red Cross volunteers fulfill many roles, such as coordinating blood drives, responding to house fires in the middle of the night,  and helping serve members of the Armed Forces and veterans. That’s more than 90 percent of our workforce – nearly 14 volunteers for every employee.Tennessee Floods 2010

Throughout the world there are 13 million active volunteers who are part of the Red Cross Red Crescent movement. Without them, we would not be able to help the roughly 150 million people who need our assistance each year.

Our vital work is made possible by people like you. It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things. The Red Cross is always looking for people with various backgrounds, talents and skill levels.

Won’t you help, too?
