Keeping with a 135 years of American Red Cross tradition in serving and honoring our members of the armed forces and veterans, the Red Cross Los Angeles Region proudly partnered with the Los Angeles Rams and Wells Fargo to bring some cheer to those who serve.

dsc_0054Players from the LA Rams including Aaron Donaldson and Michael Brockers, Rams Cheerleaders, Rampage, the Rams mascot, along with volunteers from the Rams, Wells Fargo and the Red Cross, visited Acacia Elementary School in Thousand Oaks to write messages on holiday cards that will be distributed to members of the armed forces and veterans. The cards are part of the Red Cross’ Holiday Mail for Hero’s program that makes an effort to reach our servicemen and women and share a wish from home. With help from our supporters, volunteers and sponsors, the Red Cross delivers holiday cards here at home and around the world.

“The holidays are a time to express gratitude, and the American Red Cross has given all of us a wonderful way to say thank you to our service members and veterans for their sacrifices to keep us safe,” said David DiCristofaro, lead region president of  Wells Fargo in Greater Los Angeles, who took part in the card-writing today.  “As we approach and remember Veteran’s Day this weekend, it was great to work with the Rams, students and the Red Cross to send these notes of appreciation.”

Students at Acacia Elementary were delighted and thrilled to have Rams players sitting with them to write out messages to those serving and have served in the military. While many wrote messages, others drew pictures to share their appreciation for military members. And of course, they were also very excited to have Rampage, the Rams mascot, join them as well.

The Red Cross Los Angeles Region thanks Los Angeles Rams and Wells Fargo for their ongoing support of military member and their families as well as support for the Red Cross and the Service to Armed Forces and Veterans program.
