Whether you are involved at our Regional Board Level, an Individual Supporter, a Corporate Partner, or a Red Cross Volunteer, the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region is a great place to give! And, the efforts of our incredible donors are starting to make an impact – almost everywhere you look! In fact, thanks to some of our most prominent friends and supporters, last month, since the timing of the Los Angeles Region Centennial coincided with the 100-year anniversary of the dedication of our National Headquarters building in Washington, D.C., all L.A. Centennial Circle members now have their names prominently featured on a plaque in the newly renovated L.A. Centennial Circle Conference Room— in Red Cross Square!
Another one of our Individual Gifts programs, the Red Cross Tiffany Circle, has been hard at work—both in L.A. and around the country. In fact, nation-wide, over 21% of all major gifts now come from our generous Tiffany Circle members. Here in Los Angeles, our Tiffany Circle family has partnered with Beauty Bus to help female veterans feel more empowered—inside and out. And, in following a long tradition of women leaders and philanthropists, Los Angeles Region Tiffany Circle members have opened their hearts and their homes to the Red Cross, hosting numerous house parties for friends and family in support of our mission!
When it comes to Corporate Partners, companies like Arconic are setting the example for both giving and community action. In association with a gift from The Arconic Foundation, nearly 40 employees from Arconic joined Service to the Armed Forces and Veterans volunteers on May 19th, to build comfort kits for Los Angeles area Veterans.
Now, everyone can follow the lead of our L.A. Centennial Circle, Tiffany Circle, and The Arconic Foundation, by joining a Crowdrise Fundraising Team and getting their friends and family involved to help reduce deaths and injuries related to home fires. As part of our participation in a nation-wide smoke alarm installation blitz, including the installation of our 1 millionth smoke alarm, this fall, Red Cross volunteers will be out in the community installing free smoke alarms at five Sound the Alarm installation events between Sept. 23 and Oct. 21. With this, comes the opportunity to join a Crowdrise Fundraising Team. This way, you don’t have to join our volunteers on the ground to help. Anyone can support our mission online— and then rally support from others around the world who want to help us save lives!
