I am the President/CEO, of the Crenshaw Christian Center
What was your first job?
My first job was at Robert’s Studio. They took High School Graduation photos for schools all over Southern California.
Where did you grow up?
In the Los Angeles area, Watts (South LA), West side during latter part of elementary school through college.
What is a fun fact about you or secret skill you have?
I love to design fine jewelry. I used to turn away from loose stones, but now look at them and wonder what beautiful piece of jewelry I can make with them.
What is your personal connection to the Red Cross?
After hearing about it all of my life, my first involvement was around thirty-five years ago because my Mother-in-law, Marie Evans. She was a faithful Red Crosser, who would be deployed to disasters around the country and abroad numerous times. Then I cultivated a relationship with this amazing organization with my organization. I believe, approximately eight years ago.
