On Monday, Aug. 30, Thomas Hill, the new regional disaster officer for American Red Cross Los Angeles, was assigned to his first deployment – working at a shelter in Northern California and Reno, Nevada, for those affected by the wildfires. For two weeks, he will be working on the ground with residents and fully experiencing and delivering the Red Cross mission.

Day 1: The Assigment
I have been assigned my first deployment, I will be heading to Sacramento tomorrow morning to experience Red Cross shelters for myself and help insofar as I can.
Interesting fact in that my first deployment will be to the place I spent my childhood, what a privilege, what an honor and what a trippy coincidence. Life is serendipitous to say the least.
