International Services: A program that Helps Vulnerable Communities Around the world

Logo v2Just so you get the idea, here are the numbers. In 2013, more than 100 million people were helped by the American Red Cross through disaster response and community-based programs, 73 countries were provided international assistance, and a total of 1.1 billion children had been vaccinated against measles and rubella after 12 years of hard work.

We work around the clock and around the world to help vulnerable communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters, humanitarian emergencies and health crises by mobilizing the power of the world’s largest humanitarian network. rco_blog_img_International_Services

How do we do it? We are part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement which is made up of 188 Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies and more than 100 million members, volunteers and supporters.

We currently support the American Red Cross Haiti Assistance Program, the West Africa Ebola Outbreak, and the Philippines Typhoon Haitian Recovery. But that’s not all, the American Red Cross supports many other amazing programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, Africa and Europe, Middle East and Central Asia

Working with our partners around the globe, the American Red Cross has three core programs: Restoring Family Links (RFL), International Humanitarian Law awareness, and our Measles & Rubella Initiative.
